1. How do you define the main issue of your project in relation with the theme “Living Cities Imagining architecture taking care of the milieus”? And in which way do you think your project can contribute to an ecological and/or social evolution?
The project manages to highlight an abandoned urban space through the regeneration of the natural ecosystem and sustainable design. It is a territorial and urban planning that returns its space to all the agents of the natural ecosystem, thus enhancing the urban spaces and the social and ecological relationships.

2. How did the issues of your design and the questions raised by the site mutation meet?
The project consists of a network of small interventions that focus on:
1- Recovering natural ecosystems.
2- Regenerate urban, social and cultural spaces.
3- Improve the water management and network.
4- Reactivate productive landscapes.
5- Reconnect the urban stratum.

PROJECT:

3. Have you treated these issues previously? What were the reference projects that inspired yours?
I have worked professionally on many architectural and urban projects, but mainly in urban regeneration and territorial development, such as the “Madrid Metropolitan Forest”, the urban development of “Madrid Nuevo Norte” or the “Dynamization Plan for a model village in Galicia”. Other reference projects are those of “Batlle i Roig” or “Carles Enrich”.

SITE:

4. How can your project be implemented together with the actors through a negotiated process and in time. How did you consider this issue in your project?
The project is clearly designed to be executed in phases and seeking the benefit of all local agents. New meeting spaces, as the “Activities Center”, are also proposed for municipal use and for the town's business network, so that the project can also generate real economic transformation and bring the generational change.

5. How did you form the team for the competition and if so what are the skills you associated?
I am entering the contest alone because my professional colleagues did not have available schedule. However, I believe that my knowledge of architecture, urban planning and territorial development may be sufficient to design a good strategy and architectural solution in this type of projects.

6. How could this prize help you in your professional career?
I believe that Europan17 can publicize the character and quality of my projects as architect and urban planner.
