Two concepts: SYNERGY and GROWTH, and three different scales: DOMESTIC, URBAN and TERRITORIAL, in order to create a systematic solution for the new Catania.
-Social sustainability: Planning design respects pre-existing structures, incorporates a new public transportation grid and social/sport/leisure time reactivating programs.
-Constructive process minimizes ground contact and allows flexibility of growth and possibility for further adaptation.
-Active/passive bioclimatic systems provide protection/profit of solar radiation, ecological roofs, reuse of sewage and rainwater, cross ventilation and ground inertia cooling techniques.
