Team point of view
Sharing: Living in Croy and Romainmôtier means living in the great landscape between the Jura and the Alps, just a stone's throw from Lausanne, and therefore from Paris and Zurich. Tourists, old and new inhabitants share a setting, a landscape, a heritage.
Arrangements : Two villages, one touristic, the other agricultural, one in a valley, the other on the plateau, connected to the regional metropolises by train.
Contrasting situations: clearings, forests, meadows; scattered or clustered ways of living; around a courtyard or a vegetable garden; from the pavilion to the big farm, from the abbey church to the grain silo.
Proposals : A constellation of emblematic, collective figures - the emergences in the landscape: hotel, station, supermarkets - but also a series of more discreet, domestic elements that merge with the grain of existing houses and activities. Founding the future district in the previous structure means creating a dialogue, taking care of coexistences, energising without separating.
Jury point of view
The project proposes an urbanisation strategy based on an analysis of the land potential of the territory under consideration. It distributes a complex programme that does not only include housing, although it gives it an important place, but also adds services such as kindergarden, school, post office, cultural centre, as a complement to the housing.
